Australian Childhood Foundation is a National Children's Charity aiming to prevent child abuse with the goal of reducing the harm cased to children, families and young people affected by abuse with the goal of reducing the harm it causes to children, families and young people affected by abuse. This organisation is renowned for providing specialist counselling and therapeutic care programs to children and young people as well as running research and community awareness programs. The organisation is also a Registered Training Organisation and delivers accredited and unaccredited training programs.
We are seeking an experienced Social Worker, Psychologist, Clinician or Occupational Therapist with consulting, training, clinical work and systems work to service the state-wide Out Of Home Care Service Program. This program is responsible for specialist interventions for children with complex needs. Securing a state-wide contract to deliver counselling services to children and young people affected by family violence is a huge achievement for such a fantastic and innovative organisation.
You will work in an organisation with an exceptional culture who are experts in their for working creatively with children and young people. This role is unique where it allows lots of opportunity for professional development, and where supervision and support is provided for by someone with strong skills in working with trauma.
A hybrid role; We need candidates to work across program areas which include working with out of home care providers and carers in the creation of therapeutic environments for children and young people who have suffered abuse and trauma, and also to deliver effective counselling services through evidence based interventions to promote safety, empowerment and healing.
The key elements of this role are:-
- Program Development, Implementation and Review
- Specialist therapeutic Support/Advice/Work with Children
- Delivery of Training and Therapeutic Care
- Advocacy and Research
To be considered we are looking for the experience and qualifications as follows:-
- Psych, Clinical and/or Social Work or a related discipline;
- Have a strong passion for innovative trauma based frameworks;
- Experience working collaboratively with volunteers, carers, DHHS, other agencies and the community;
- Holding education settings experienced with the above criteria in mind.
